CAMP PENDLETON – The unveiling of a new painting by Todd Krasovetz brought awe to a crowd celebrating the 106th birthday of the Navy hospital corps. The work, called "The New American Pride," honors corpsmen, Marines and sailors, especially those wounded in Iraq and those who rescued them on the battlefield. "Todd has a knack for capturing the essence of what we do as corpsmen," said Raphael Sanchez, command master chief at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.

In early 2008 my son was deployed for the first time. One morning I was in prayer as usual for his protection when I had a vision. In my vision I saw a vast and open desert, with orange and brown hues, and my son in full combat gear trudging across. But as he moved so did the enormous angel whose wings were wrapped around my son. Together I watched them moving in perfect sync and knew God was with him and protecting him. When my prayer time was over I opened my Bible to read the Psalms, and because it was the fourth day of the month and I read five Psalms a day, I turned to Psalm 34:7 and received written confirmation of the vision I'd just had, "The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them." A year later I began to search the internet for an artistic rendition of my vision to give my son as a gift when I came across Todd Krasovetz's military art piece, "Savior in the Storm." The rendition, though not exact, is uncannily close and I love it and just purchased it for my son's birthday. Thank you Todd for your beautiful work and the inspiration that moves you to create sensational artistic pieces for the world to enjoy and for the comfort it brings to those who are in harms way.
